A Teaser for Gone Girl Fans… the Movie Trailer

A first look at the official trailer for Gone Girl leaves readers excitedly hoping the film adaptation lives up to the acclaim of the best selling novel.

Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn is a thrillingly twisted and sometimes darkly humorous tale of a marriage gone so far off the rails that it will have you looking sideways at your spouse and wondering how well you really know them, what they are thinking and of what they are truly capable.

The novel has sold more than 6 million copies since its release in June 2012 and spent 79 weeks on the New York Times Best Sellers List.

Synopsis

On a warm summer morning in North Carthage, Missouri, it is Nick and Amy Dunne’s fifth wedding anniversary. Presents are being wrapped and reservations are being made when Nick’s clever and beautiful wife disappears. Husband-of-the-Year Nick isn’t doing himself any favors with cringe-worthy daydreams about the slope and shape of his wife’s head, but passages from Amy’s diary reveal the alpha-girl perfectionist could have put anyone dangerously on edge. Under mounting pressure from the police and the media—as well as Amy’s fiercely doting parents—the town golden boy parades an endless series of lies, deceits, and inappropriate behavior. Nick is oddly evasive, and he’s definitely bitter—but is he really a killer?

Gone Girl the movie is set for release on October 3, 2014.

While readers will certainly drive ticket sales, the all-star cast is sure to lure those who have never experienced the suspense of the novel. Gone Girl features Ben Affleck as distraught husband Nick Dunne and Rosamund Pike as his missing wife Amy Dunne. Missi Pyle, Neil Patrick Harris, Sela Ward and Tyler Perry also star in the film.

Twentieth Century Fox acquired the movie rights to Gone Girl in 2012. Pacific Standard’s Reese Witherspoon and Bruna Papandrea, along with Leslie Dixon, produced the film.
