Police Seek Public’s Help Solving Vandalism of Masonic Lodges

Break-ins and vandalism at two Sevier County Masonic Lodges have local law enforcement agencies asking the public for assistance in solving the cases.

According to Detective Milliron of the Sevierville Police Department, perpetrator(s) allegedly broke into the Mountain Star Lodge #197 at 1309 Dolly Parton Parkway in Sevierville between April 18-25, 2014. While they gained access to a safe that contained documents, no documents or property were reported stolen. Several rooms were ransacked and vandalized.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is requested to contact SPD Detective Milliron at 865-868-1747. The Mountain Star Lodge is offering a $500 reward for information resulting in the arrest and conviction of all persons involved in the burglary and vandalism of their lodge.

The Sevier County Sheriff’s Office is also seeking information on a similar incident at the Masonic Lodge in Kodak that occurred about the same time last month. The French Broad Lodge #533 at 3709 Douglas Dam Road in Kodak was allegedly burglarized and vandalized between April 19-21, 2014. Perpetrators ransacked and vandalized rooms, and in this incident, two clocks were reportedly stolen. Anyone with information regarding this incident is requested to contact SCSO Detective Maria Cutshaw at 865-774-3931.
