New Monopoly Millionaires’ Club Multi-State Lottery Promises More Millionaires

People in Tennessee will soon be able to play a new multi-state lottery game called Monopoly Millionaires’ Club that promises to make “more and more millionaires.”

Monopoly Millionaires’ Club launches this month in Tennessee and 23 other states, with nine more states expected to join in later. Tickets go on sale Oct. 19, with the first drawing Oct. 24, 2014. The game will draw every Friday night at 11:15 p.m. (ET).

At $5, the price per play for this new game is higher than any other drawing-style lottery game in the United States. Powerball tickets cost only $2 per play, or $3 per play if adding the Power Play™ option. However, $5 scratch tickets are the most popular of all the instant scratch ticket games.

Each Monopoly Millionaires’ Club ticket will give the player three ways to become a millionaire:

  1. Match 5 of 5 numbers drawn and a Property number to win the Top Prize of $15 – $25 Million.
  2. Match your Millionaires’ Club Number in the second chance drawing for $1 Million, which is unlocked when someone wins the Top Prize.
  3. Enter your ticket Webcode online for a chance to become a contestant in Las Vegas on the TV Game Show where you can win up to $1 Million.

“Lotteries across the country came together and listened to what players wanted,” said Rebecca Paul Hargrove, president of the Tennessee Lottery. “With three chances to win $1 million, a $5 popular price point, and the ability to unlock more and more millionaires, Monopoly Millionaires’ Club is expected to spread the wealth across the country like no other game in lottery history.”

The Monopoly Millionaires’ Club game prize pool will begin with a $15 million Top Prize and ten $1 million Club Prizes. If no one wins the Top Prize in a given week, it will continue to increase in value for the next three weeks until it reaches $25 million. For as long as no one wins the Top Prize, all additional prize money will fund additional $1 million Club Prizes until someone wins the Top Prize. Winning the Top Prize will unlock the $1 million Club Prizes.

This is the first time a multi-state lottery game has been combined with a national television game show. Actor and comedian Billy Gardell of the television sitcom “Mike & Molly” and the film “You, Me & Dupree” will act as host of the game show Monopoly Millionaires’ Club, premiering in February 2015.

“I love MONOPOLY! I’ve played this game with friends and family since 1979,” said Gardell. “Hosting a big game show is a bucket list level type of job for me. I’ve always had a big time game show as one of my goals, and to have the opportunity to be a part of Monopoly Millionaires’ Club is a real honor. It’s an iconic game that resonates with everyone, and I want to see someone win one million dollars!”

Lottery players can register their tickets online to build MONOPOLY-themed Property Sets. Completed Property Sets earn an entry into a drawing for the chance to appear on the nationally televised game show. Thousands of players will win a five-day, four-night trip for two to Las Vegas to be in the show’s studio audience. Contestants randomly selected from the audience will play a series of MONOPOLY-themed games offering cash and other prizes valued up to $100,000. A final round will offer one player on each episode a shot at $1 million. More than $2.5 million in prize money will be up for grabs on every episode of the show.

This new approach to a national lottery draw game was created by Scientific Games under license from Hasbro, Inc. and is based on the iconic MONOPOLY™ brand, one of the most well recognized brands in the world.

“MONOPOLY is one of the most successful brands in gaming with lottery, slots and sweepstakes. With Monopoly Millionaires’ Club, more millionaires will be made than ever before,” said Steve Saferin, president of Properties Group and chief creative officer for Scientific Games. “Our player research consistently indicates that participants would prefer to see the millions of dollars in lottery prizing distributed to lots of winners, rather than one or two players winning hundreds of millions of dollars each.”

  1. This is one of the most confussing games to try and play. How do you find the winning club number? No where have I been able to find this drawing>>> Not a good game to do especially at 5.00 bucks a throw…. This one is not a game with clear instruction of where to find these \drawing numbers for the Millionaires Club Number. Starting with TN. .

  2. Another game with more ‘zip”. How does the State share in this game.
