Rowena McFalls is 2014 FCE Best of the Best

Rowena McFalls was selected as the Tennessee 2014 Family & Community Education (FCE) Best of the Best. She received this state honor for her 36 years of service and participation to the FCE organization as well as the community.

Rowena served as President of the Midway Club for 15 years, and Sevier County FCE Council President for 20 years. She also attended numerous leadership conferences. Rowena has demonstrated her craft talents by participating in the Cultural Arts for 36 years making a variety of items ranging from quilts to snowmen from recycled light bulbs.

Rowena has been an active leader in the US Daughter of 1812, Spencer Clark DAR, and John Ogle Colonial Dames XOll Century. This year she was also named “Tennessee’s Dame of the Year” for her service and leadership with Colonial Dames.

From her home, Rowena continues to help many. She sews for the Post 104 Honor Guard, and has made wheelchair bags for the Veterans Hospital. She has made 500 plus turbans for patients at the cancer hospital in past years. Additionally, she has made 75 pillowcase dresses for Africa, and the list continues.

Rowena was recognized for her service and membership at the Tennessee FCE Conference in Chattanooga. She still remains active in the Midway FCE Club.

(FCE) Family and Community Education Cubs are a national organization aimed at enhancing family and community through education and service. FCE Clubs meet monthly in Sevier County and open to anyone.
