Dollywood Holding Auditions for 2015 Season

Dollywood is seeking talented performers and production staff at open auditions in January.

The Dollywood Company is holding open auditions in three cities across the Southeast region for singers, actors and bluegrass or gospel acts to perform at its Dollywood theme park in Pigeon Forge. Auditions will be held Saturdays, Jan. 3 in Atlanta, Jan. 17 in Nashville and Jan. 31 in Pigeon Forge, Tenn.

Winner of six consecutive Golden Ticket Awards for Best Shows, Dollywood will surely be seeking entertainers with an amazing talent and passion for performing that is essential to presenting extraordinary shows year after year.

At all three audition dates, Dollywood’s entertainment team will specifically be looking for singers experienced in musical theater with ability to sing 50’s-60’s rock and pop vocals; country singers who can perform classic and contemporary country music; and expressive actors skilled at improvisation who can sing and move well. They will also be auditioning small bluegrass groups to perform during Dollywood’s BBQ and Bluegrass Festival (May 23rd – June 7th, 2015) and Southern Gospel groups to perform during its Southern Gospel and Harvest Celebration (Oct. 2nd – Oct. 31st, 2015). Performers must be at least 17 years old.

“We’ve been able to find so many amazingly talented people during past auditions,” said Justin Bradley, Dollywood Entertainment Manager. “We’re always excited to see who we’ll discover at the next audition. Dollywood has been the starting point for a number of impressive performance careers and I expect we’ll add to that list during our 30th anniversary season in 2015.”

American Idol’s Janelle Arthur started her career at Dollywood playing a young Dolly Parton in Paradise Road and has returned to Dollywood several times to entertain guests.

At the January 31 audition at Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, the entertainment team will also be filling production staff positions such as stage managers, audio and lighting technicians, follow-spot operators, stagehands, video specialists and costume dressers. Professionals interested in these positions who cannot attend the audition may apply by mail.
