Winners announced in 4-H Essay Contest sponsored by Keep Sevier Beautiful

Winners for the Sevier County 4-H Essay Contest for 2015 have been selected. Winners were named in five award categories, with over 2,050 entered, in this year’s contest. The topic was “Tennessee is known as the Volunteer State. What are the benefits of volunteering and why is it important to volunteer with Keep Sevier Beautiful?” The contest is sponsored annually by Keep Sevier Beautiful. Keep Sevier Beautiful provides ribbons for all participants along with cash awards as listed below.

Overall, $25.00 winners were: 4th grade – Andrew Abrams, Catlettsburg; 5th grade – Isabella Zadakaus, Seymour Intermediate; 6th grade – Shelby Carmichael, Sevierville Middle; 7th & 8th grade – Daniel Gomez, Sevierville Middle; 9th – 12th grade – Victoria Clements, Sevier County High School.

4th grade cash award winners include:

$10.00 Winners – AJ Donough, Boyds Creek Elementary; Sierra Chaney, Wearwood; Bailey McCoy, Seymour Intermediate.

$5.00 Winners – Avery Watson, Pi Beta Phi; Alaine Kirk, Pigeon Forge Primary; Connor French, Sevierville Intermediate; Dawson Phillips, Pi Beta Phi.

5th grade cash award winners include:

$10.00 Winners – Miya Palaganas, Pigeon Forge Middle; Caleb Sipes, Pi Beta Phi; Naerguess Siahatgar, Pi Beta Phi.

6th grade cash award winners include:

7th & 8th grade cash award winners include:

9th – 12th grade cash award winners include:

$10.00 Winners – Andrew Troutman, Gatlinburg Pittman High School; Christy Newsom, Pigeon Forge High School; Tiffany Metcalf, Pigeon Forge High School

$5.00 Winners – Trenton Dombrowski, Sevier County High School; Tyler Dombrowski, Sevier County High School.
