Sevierville police are searching for a man who reportedly left the scene of a motor vehicle accident Tuesday evening.

According to Sevierville Police Department Officer Matt Nicol, 27-year-old Thomas M. Carr allegedly crashed a tow truck into four other vehicles on the Parkway near Five Oaks Mall at approximately 10:40 p.m. on Tuesday, May 12, 2015.

Witnesses reported that a flatbed tow truck was traveling south on the Parkway near Five Oaks Mall, when it crossed into the northbound lanes and struck four vehicles. The tow truck then went over a curb, through a fence and ultimately came to rest in Ripley’s Old McDonald Miniature Golf Course at 1639 Parkway in Sevierville. The tow truck driver, who police believe to be Thomas Carr, fled the scene on foot.

Two adults in a Chevrolet Silverado pick-up truck, which was apparently hit head-on by the tow truck, were transported to LeConte Medical Center by the Sevier County Ambulance Service with what appeared to be non-life threatening injuries. None of the drivers or passengers in the other three vehicles were transported.
