Sevierville Police Searching for Kodak Convenience Store Robber

A former employee of Lee’s Food Mart in Kodak is wanted by Sevierville police after allegedly robbing the store early Friday morning.

Officers from the Sevierville Police Department responded to a 911 call and alarm at Lee’s Food Mart, 3423 Winfield Dunn Parkway in Kodak, at approximately 2:30 a.m. on Friday, May 15, 2015. According to Sgt. Terry Bryan, a store employee told police that a man approached and grabbed her by the arm, demanding money from the cash register and safe. The robber removed an undisclosed amount of money from the cash register and fled on foot.

The robbery suspect was identified as Matthew D. Cook of Kodak, a former Lee’s Food Mart employee, based upon a review of security video. A robbery warrant has been issued for Cook’s arrest.

Police ask anyone with information concerning the whereabouts of Matthew D. Cook to contact Detective Milliron with the Sevierville Police Department at 865-868-1747.

All persons are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
