WBIR Invites Pigeon Forge to ‘Hometown Spotlight’ Broadcast

Pigeon Forge will be in the spotlight on Monday, June 1, 2015 when WBIR-TV’s “Live at Five at Four” program originates from the patio outside the LeConte Center at Pigeon Forge.

It is one of six special “Hometown Spotlight” broadcasts from across the region. The series started this month in Crossville and continues through November.

Pigeon Forge residents are invited to see hosts Beth Haynes and Russell Biven as they focus on some of Pigeon Forge’s overlooked assets and special citizens.

Residents also are invited to participate in a special “From the Heart” photo. A group will form a giant heart, using as much of the 100,500-square-foot LeConte Hall inside the LeConte Event Center as needed. To be in the photo, you must arrive by 4 p.m.

“Photos from all six broadcasts will be displayed at WBIR, and the town with the largest number of locals in the photo will be named East Tennessee’s hometown with the most heart,” said Kara McFarland, WBIR director of community relations.

The Pigeon Forge Department of Tourism is assisting with the broadcast.
