Sevierville Announces Street Closures for Rootin’ 4 Regen Movie, 5K Race

The City of Sevierville advises motorists to consider alternate routes when the city temporarily closes sections of area streets this month to facilitate two events.

Bruce Street in downtown Sevierville, from the Parkway to Gary Wade Blvd. will be closed from approximately 1:30 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 12, 2015 to accommodate the production of the “Rootin’ 4 Regen” movie. Regen Morris, a 12-year-old boy from Gatlinburg diagnosed with inoperable brain tumors, inspired the people of Sevier County and beyond. The faith-based production company JC Films is producing the movie.

On Saturday, July 18, 2015, lane closures will begin at approximately 7 a.m. and end about 9 a.m. on the following streets to accommodate runners in a 5K road race sponsored by Pathways Church. Traffic will be maintained on all roads, however short term delays may occur.

  • Dolly Parton Parkway: right westbound lane between the intersection with Old Newport Highway and Cherokee Circle.
  • Old Newport Highway: eastbound lane between the intersection with Dolly Parton Parkway and Cherokee Circle.
  • Cherokee Circle: southbound lane between the intersection with Old Newport Highway and Dolly Parton Parkway.
