Sevierville Firefighters Attain Paramedic Certification from Walters State

Two City of Sevierville Fire Department firefighters recently graduated from paramedic school at Walters State Community College. Firefighters Tony Hardin (left) and Britt Turner (right) successfully completed approximately 1,800 classroom and clinical hours of advanced emergency training to attain their paramedic certification.

“I am very proud of the commitment these two firefighters have made, not only to our department, but more importantly to our community,” said SFD Chief Matt Henderson. “They have gone above the requirements of their positions and are now trained to the highest level of pre-hospital care.”

The City of Sevierville Fire Department now has a total six paramedics on staff allowing them to provide a high level of 24-hour emergency pre-hospital care on every response in the community.
