Nascar SpeedPark hosts YL Fast Lane 5K benefitting Smoky Mountain Young Life

NASCAR SpeedPark® Smoky Mountains, the official family fun park of NASCAR®, is teaming up with Smoky Mountain Young Life in partnership with its charitable arm, PARC Foundation, to host the YL Fast Lane 5K on Saturday, Sept. 19, 2015, at 8 a.m. at NASCAR SpeedPark in Sevierville.

Running enthusiasts, as well as supporters of Young Life, are invited to participate to raise funds to support the organization’s ministry costs and to help send local kids to life-altering, inspirational camps. In addition to the 3.1-mile course featuring the Smoky Mountains as the backdrop, the YL Fast Lane 5K also features a Fun Run for ages 10 and younger at 9:30 a.m. Sparkie, NASCAR SpeedPark’s mas­cot, will signal the start, sending children twice around the Smoky Mountain Speedway oval racetrack at the park. Winners in each age group for the 5K will be recognized during an awards ceremony after both races.

The races are just the kickoff to a day of family-friendly fun. All participants also will receive unlimited access to NASCAR SpeedPark’s eight go-kart tracks, family and kids’ rides, mini golf and rock wall for a day of play.

Registration is $30 and $15, respectively, on the morning of the race. All partici­pants will receive a race t-shirt, timing bib and an unlimited ride wristband to NASCAR SpeedPark.
