Task Force Launches Round Up of 100+ Drug Suspects Across Sevier County

A multi-agency task force set out early this morning to round up 119 people on drug presentments returned by a recent Sevier County Grand Jury.

The drug charges were the result a six-month undercover operation by the Sevier County Sheriff’s Street Crimes Unit, a joint effort consisting of officers from the Sheriff’s Office, and police departments from the cities of Sevierville, Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. The 4th Judicial Attorney General’s Office also assisted in the undercover narcotics operation.

Sevier County Sheriff’s Street Crimes Unit, along with agents from the U.S. Marshals Service, Immigration and Customs Agents, and Pittman Center Police Officers, hit the streets at 4 a.m. on Sept. 23, 2015 to arrest all 119 suspects named in the presentments. As of about 7 p.m., Chief Det. Jeff McCarter with the Sheriff’s Office said the following 61 suspects had been arrested in the round up:
