Dixie Stampede in Pigeon Forge plans new Christmas at Dixie show

A new Christmas experience awaits guests planning their holiday visit to Dolly Parton’s Dixie Stampede in Pigeon Forge. Earlier in the year, the dinner attraction unveiled a completely new look and treated guests to a new adventure. This winter, those all-new sights and sounds will dazzle guests, providing a holiday experience unlike any before. The Christmas at Dixie show schedule kicks off on Tuesday, Nov. 3 and runs through Saturday, Jan. 2, 2016.

“I’m more excited than ever for Christmas and can’t wait to share our new adventure with everyone,” Dolly said. “Thanks to all of the exciting changes we’ve made, we hope this year’s Christmas show will leave our guests with more Christmas spirit than ever before.”

Highlights of the $2.5 million renovation include all-new lighting, state-of-the-art special effects and an expansive wall of 12.5 million LED bulbs. This video wall backdrop transports guests from one Christmas scene to another thanks to seamless and state-of-the-art technology.

The 35,000 square foot arena will also be transformed into a LIVE Nativity scene, reminding guests of the reason for the season, as Mary and Joseph watch over their newborn child Jesus, while wise men riding atop camels are led to the stable by a bright and shining star.

“Our creative team is already in the Christmas spirit, hard at work combining our new and advanced technical elements with the timeless Christmas traditions our guests have grown to love.” said Woody Peek, spokesperson for Dixie Stampede. “The Dixie Stampede facility will also feature new exterior décor, amplifying our already spectacular Christmas display.”

Guests will also be amazed as toys are brought to life by the Sugar Plum Fairy, before a visit from Santa himself, arriving in a horse drawn sleigh. The Christmas at Dixie cast, including 32 magnificent horses, will take guests on a nostalgic holiday trip with a friendly North Pole-South Pole rivalry.

Known as The Most Fun Place To Eat In The Smokies®, guests will enjoy a four course holiday feast, featuring Dixie Stampede’s original creamy vegetable soup, homemade biscuit, whole rotisserie chicken; hickory smoked barbecued pork loin, corn on the cob, a herb-basted potato, and specialty dessert.

Guests are asked to reserve their tickets for the special Christmas at Dixie show early by calling 1-800-356-1676 or visiting www.dixiestampede.com.
