Street Crimes Unit Rounds Up Drug Suspects in Operation Frostbite

A joint task force set out early this morning to pick up suspects facing drug charges as a result of an undercover sting named Operation Frostbite.

A Grand Jury recently returned 46 sealed presentments as a result of an undercover drug operation dubbed “Frostbite” conducted over the course of several months by the Sevier County Street Crimes Unit, which consists of officers from all Sevier County law enforcement agencies.

According to Sevier County Sheriff Ron Seals, officers from Sevier Co. Sheriff’s Office, Sevierville Police Department, Pigeon Forge Police Department, Gatlinburg Police Department, Pittman Center Police Department and U.S. Marshals Service, along with TN Dept. of Corrections Probation officers, set out at 6 a.m. on Jan. 19, 2016 to round up those suspects. As of this evening, 26 people had been arrested. Sheriff Seals said that officers are still searching for the additional suspects and will continue to do so until they are apprehended.
