Career Coach to Assist Job Seekers at Sevier County Job Fair

People looking for employment are invited to participate in a Sevier County Job Fair where they can meet employers with available positions and utilize the services of the Career Coach, a mobile job center.

The 19th Annual Sevier County Job Fair will be held 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at the Holiday Inn Convention Center, 3230 Parkway in Pigeon Forge, Tenn.

The Sevier County Economic Development Council is coordinating the job fair to assist Sevier County businesses with their staffing needs. Sevier County, City of Gatlinburg, City of Pigeon Forge and City of Sevierville are hosing the event.

Rick Harrell, chairman of the Sevier County Economic Development Council says, “We feel that the Job Fair is one of those win-win situations that you hear about but rarely see. We are glad to play a part in helping anyone who is looking for a job and any business that is looking for employees.”

More than 65 companies in various industries are participating this year. Positions are available in healthcare with CDE Senior Services and Dominion Senior Living. Other positions are available with Blalock Companies, Federal-Mogul, Funderburk Electrical Services, Jmayes Enterprises, Ka Tom Restaurant Supply, Lisega, Mannon Specialty Foods, OTICS USA, Tennessee Department of Transportation and Tusculum College.

If you are looking for part-time, seasonal or full-time employment in the restaurant industry, the following businesses will be hiring: Applewood Farmhouse Restaurant/ Grill, Arby’s, Baskin Robbins, Burger King, Calhoun’s, Cheddar’s, Cracker Barrel, Diverse Concepts, Johnson Family of Restaurants, Old Mill Square, Sawyer’s Farmhouse, Subway, and Three Bears Food Service.

In lodging, employees are needed by: Bluegreen Vacations, Cabins of the Smokies, Greystone Lodge on the River, Holiday Inn (Pigeon Forge), Holiday Inn Club Vacations (Gatlinburg), Hospitality Solutions, Music Road Resort, Oaktenn Inc. Hotel Management, Park Vista, a Doubletree by Hilton, Smoky Mountain Resorts, the Inn at Christmas Place, Westgate Resorts, Wilderness at the Smokies and Wyndham Vacation Ownership.

Opportunities with area attractions and theaters are: Bear Country Fun Park, Country Tonite Theatre, Dixie Stampede, Dollywood, Fee/Hedrick Family Entertainment Group, Gatlinburg Space Needle, Lumberjack Adventure, Ober Gatlinburg, Rafting in the Smokies, Ripley’s Entertainment, The Island, The Island Trading Post, and The Track.

Retail positions are available with: Kroger, Lid’l Dolly’s Factory Store, Mountain Valley Winery, Ole Smoky Distillery, Polo Ralph Lauren, The Island Trading Post, Three Bears General Store, and WalMart.

The cities of Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge and Sevierville are hiring. Allcor Staffing Services, AtWork Personnel Services, Master Corp, and SharpShooter Imaging are also looking for employees.

A Tennessee Career Coach will be on site with Career Specialists to assist job seekers in resume writing and interviewing skills, as well as registering for Jobs4TN.gov, an online jobs database with more than 90,000 jobs available across the state.

Applicants should bring copies of their resume if they have one, but it is not required as there will be applications available for completion that day. Dress for success. Remember first impressions are lasting impressions.
