ALDI Plans Hiring Event for New Sevierville Store

Discount grocer ALDI has planned a hiring event this month to staff its new Sevierville store.

ALDI is holding a hiring event 9 a.m.–4 p.m. on April 18, 2016 at the Sevierville Civic Center, 200 Gary Wade Boulevard. The company will be looking to fill a variety of full-time positions at its new Sevierville store on Winfield Dunn Parkway, as well as the Morristown location.

ALDI offers the following wages:

Store Associate – $11.50/hr.

Shift Manager – $15.50/manager hour worked

Manager Trainee – $41,600/yr.* With an opportunity to earn $75,000-$85,000/yr. as a Store Manager *$20.00/hr. (avg. 40 hrs./wk.)

Job seekers must apply in person, but may see the hiring process and download the employment application in advance. Applicants must be able to lift and stock merchandise up to 45 pounds, have a high school diploma or G.E.D., and pass a background check and drug test.

ALDI offers a no-frills shopping experience, stocking predominately ALDI-exclusive brands, requiring customers to pay a quarter deposit for shopping cart use and either bring their own bags or buy reusable bags at the checkout. The company says it helps keep prices low by operating smaller energy efficient stores that are open only during the most popular shopping hours, usually 9 a.m.–8 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 10 a.m.–7 p.m. on Sunday.

The Illinois-based company operates more than 1,500 stores in 33 states across the U.S.
