Lumberjack Adventure Show Offers High-Flying Acrobats, Moonshine Cocktails

Dolly was in Pigeon Forge today to flip the switch and open her new dinner theater, Dolly Parton’s Lumberjack Adventure.

Guests at Dolly Parton’s Lumberjack Adventure will experience an all-new, high energy, Smoky Mountains themed competition between two logging families while enjoying a campfire cuisine meal that they may pair with a beer, wine or signature moonshine cocktail.

“I can promise you’ve never seen another show like this in town before,” Parton said. “I’ve truly enjoyed creating this Smoky Mountain story for families to enjoy while they are here in Pigeon Forge. There are completely new experiences for guests at this show and I can’t wait to hear what they think of the finished product.”

Parton acquired the Lumberjack Feud Dinner Show property last year and invested $25 million into the project, gutting the existing building and expanding it with new construction. The Regency Inn motel on an adjacent parcel was demolished to increase visibility from the Parkway and expand parking for the new attraction. Renovations to the theater include new ticketing and arrival experiences; a lobby for guests to enjoy pre-show entertainment and refreshments; a distinctive animated stage and set; state-of-the-art sound, lighting and aerial rigging; and a completely new kitchen to prepare a hearty meal that will satisfy any lumberjack. Parton said that more than half of the total investment was allocated to make the extraordinary new show come to life for guests.

Arrive early to enjoy the pre-show entertainment.

Dolly Parton’s Lumberjack Adventure theater stage is an arena where two families compete against one another, but that is where any similarity to the previous dinner show end.

The new story line was created in-house by Dolly’s long-time collaborator Ken McCabe. Parton set out to create an experience never before seen in the Smokies by bringing in some of the best choreographers, set designers, lighting and sound consultants and composers. Parton serves as executive producer of the show and also wrote the romantic song “Something More” especially for the show.

The Smoky Mountains logging town tale unfolds as a talented cast sings, dances and astounds the audience with acrobatic displays, speed climbing, axe juggling and an assortment of other feats.

The lumberjack feast, inspired by the campfire cuisine of a sawmill logging camp, begins with creamy timber slaw and a buttery, homemade lumberjack biscuit followed by campfire fried chicken, smokehouse pulled pork, home-style smashed taters, sawmill gravy and fried skillet corn, and finally finishes with a specialty desert. Vegetarian and gluten free meal options are available when making reservations. The meal includes unlimited Pepsi, tea and coffee.

Also new is the availability for guests over 21 years of age to purchase alcoholic beverages at the show. The drink menu continues the Smoky Mountains theme with five signature moonshine cocktails. A selection of twenty different bottled beer or three wines is also available.
