Blue Buffalo Dry Dog Food Recalled Due to Possible Mold

Blue Buffalo Company announced today that it is voluntarily recalling a limited number of bags of its Life Protection Formula dry dog food because potential mold could sicken pets.

30-pound bags of Blue Buffalo brand Life Protection Formula Fish and Sweet Potato Recipe for dogs are being recalled due to a moisture issue. According to the company, only 2,000 bags are affected by this dog food recall.

“This is being done in an abundance of caution, as the product has the potential to be contaminated with mold,” the company said in a statement.

Consumers can identify the recalled dog food by the UPC Code: 859610000326 and Best By Date: April 11, 2017 AH 2A 12:08 – 14:00 printed on the exterior of the packaging.

Consumers should not feed the recalled dog food to their pet. They may return the product to the place of purchase for a full refund. Those with questions may contact Blue Buffalo at 855-201-4331.
