Free Amateur Radio Workshop to be Held in Sevierville

Amateur radio enthusiasts will meet monthly in Sevierville at the free Hams Helping Hams Workshop for learning opportunities and to exchange tips and tricks.

The first Hams Helping Hams Workshop will be held 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 11, 2016 and feature a presentation of on hands soldering of PL259s and how to cut and strip the cable properly by Paul W4PGM. Kevin W4KEV will be teaching the use of a VOM, how to use and read, take measurements and more. The workshop is free, but advance registration is required.

Workshops are appropriate for all hams that wish to learn and especially for new hams. They are open to any amateur radio operator, not just for those on the 470 ARG.

“Paul will provide everything needed,” said Rick Sawaya. “If you have a VOM, then bring yours. If not I will have a couple on hand. They are not that expensive and you always need one around the shack.”

For information about upcoming workshop topics, or to register for a workshop, email n4jtq@live.com or call 865-446-4535.

The King Family Library is located at 408 High Street in Sevierville.
