Sevierville Woman’s Business Wins Pick Tennessee Artisan Product Award

Skin care products from Happy Skin Naturals have been chosen for an award at a tradeshow spotlighting products made in Tennessee.

The 2016 Pick Tennessee Products tradeshow was recently held in Nashville during the Tennessee Grocers & Convenience Store Association’s Food Expo. Happy Skin Naturals is a participant in the Pick Tennessee Products program, a free statewide program offered by the Tennessee Department of Agriculture, and won a new Artisan Non-Food Product Award this year at the tradeshow.

Renee Whitfield produces Happy Skin Naturals skin care products in Sevierville, Tenn. and says she started the company in 2012 because she was not happy with some of the “natural” skin care products she was using because they still contained harmful and artificial ingredients. She set out on a journey to learn about making her own all natural skin care products. She formulates the products using plant-based edible oils, butters & essential oils and utilizes the opinions of friends a family in her product development.

“It was a pleasant surprise for me and my company!” Whitfield said. “I feel very honored that the Pick Tennessee staff chose my company for this award.”

Happy Skin Naturals best selling skin care products include:

  • Eucalyptus, Rosemary & Mint Artisan Soap
  • Lavender Artisan Soap
  • Lemongrass Artisan Soap
  • Spiced Patchouli Artisan Soap
  • Men’s Beard Balms
  • All Natural Bug-Away Repellent
  • Herbal Deodorants

For Whitfield, the journey has been fun. She has a great time making the products, which she does in small batches to ensure quality, and selling them at local farmers markets and craft shows. “I love the face-to-face interaction that I have with my customers,” said Whitfield. “They are what drive me to keep doing what I’m doing.”
