LeConte Medical Center Forms Patient and Family Partnership Council

LeConte Medical Center is pleased to announce a new initiative that invites former patients and family members to provide feedback and suggestions related to various aspects of a hospital experience. LeConte’s Patient and Family Partnership Council will consist of volunteer members from the community and representatives from the hospital staff. The council will meet on a regular basis and work together on projects to enhance quality, service and safety at the hospital.

“There is no better way to listen to the voices of our customers than to spend time with them and hear their stories,” said Amanda Paletz, hospital spokesperson. “In turn, they can learn from hospital staff about medical roles and healthcare challenges, and we can all collaborate to help LeConte Medical Center provide excellent care.”

The Patient and Family Partnership Council may explore projects such as reviewing and revising information that is provided for patients and visitors, suggesting ways to make waiting rooms and patient care areas more comfortable and sharing ideas with management staff.

For more information about the Patient and Family Partnership Council and an application to join, visit www.lecontemedicalcenter.com/application or call 865-446-7500.

LeConte Medical Center encourages former patients and family members to apply to serve on the council. Applications will be accepted through Aug. 5, 2016. After an initial application review, selected candidates will be invited for a follow-up interview. Those who are chosen for the councils will attend an orientation session to learn more details, including information about the council’s first meeting. Meetings will be held at the hospital monthly, typically during evening hours.
