Multi-Agency Resource Center for Disaster Relief to Open

A Multi-Agency Resource Center will open on Monday to provide assistance to wildfire victims who lost their homes, who were displaced by the fire or businesses who need help.

The Multi-Agency Resource Center will open Dec. 12, 2016 at the former Belz Factory Mall, 2655 Teaster Lane in Pigeon Forge, and operate Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.

The following state departments and agencies will be present: Tennessee Housing Development Agency; Housing and Urban Development; Human Services; Children Services; Tennessee Labor and Workforce Development; Tennessee Highway Patrol; Tennessee Veterans Affairs; Tennessee Financial Institute; Tennessee Economic and Community Development; Tennessee Commerce and Insurance; and Tennessee Health & Vital Affairs.

In addition, representatives from the Sevier County Senior Center; Douglas Cherokee; Volunteer East Tennessee; American Red Cross; Legal Aid of Tennessee; Safe Harbor; and Safe Space will also be on site.

“This is an excellent opportunity to come to one place and find out what services are available to assist the victims of the fire in their recovery,” stated Emily Whaley, assistant director of the Sevier County Economic Development Council.

The Sevier County Economic Development Council will also be located at the facility with a list of job openings currently available in the Sevier County area.

  1. I am hearing many reports of fraud when it comes to the recent fire. I am telling constiuants to have anyone that calls or approaches them for help to send them to this center.Unforutnately there will always be those who take advantage of a bad situation.
