Music for the Mountains Concert to Benefit Dolly’s My People Fund

The Musicians of the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra will be performing Music for the Mountains: a benefit concert to support the Gatlinburg wildfire disaster relief — a musician-organized and led event.

The performance will take place at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2016 at TN Valley Unitarian Universalist Church — 2931 Kingston Pike in Knoxville. The musicians are volunteering their services and will be playing solos, trios, quartets and larger ensembles including traditional classical repertoire as well as familiar holiday selections.

Music for the Mountains is free to the public with all donations going to the Dollywood Foundation “My People Fund” which assures 100% of donations will directly benefit the families who have lost homes in the wildfires. The event is being organized by Jeffery Whaley, a Sevierville native and principal horn of the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra in partnership with TN Valley Unitarian Universalist Church and American Federation of Musicians Local 546.  For more information, please contact Jeffery Whaley at 931-529-4676.
