Sevierville Man Hit, Killed Crossing Parkway Near Walmart

The Sevierville Police Department says a man was struck and killed by a vehicle while crossing the street Tuesday night.

Witnesses told police that a GMC SUV hit 59-year old Alex Woloch, of Sevierville, as he was crossing the southbound lanes of the Parkway between the two Walmart entrance/exit roads about 7:30 p.m. on Jan. 3, 2017. A 16-year-old was driving that SUV. Wolock died from his injures.

Police say blood was drawn from both the driver and the victim, as is standard procedure with all motor vehicle fatalities. There was no alcohol or drugs found at the scene. The investigation is ongoing and authorities have filed no charges at this time.
