Tennessee Idol Singing Competition to Help Build Tiny Homes for Veterans

The statewide amateur singing competition Tennessee Idol is kicking off across the state and proceeds from the events will fund the building of tiny homes for disabled veterans.

Brighton Road Entertainment is proud to be the sponsor of the first annual Tennessee Idol, a singing competition that will be held in each of the 95 counties in Tennessee. Winners from each county competition will win a $250 prize package and move on to the state competition where they will vie for title of 2017 Tennessee State Vocal Champion, a recording contract and $10,000 prize package.

The competition is open to amateur singers of all ages. There is a $25 entry fee for contestants. Audience tickets are just $10.

Proceeds will benefit A Home 4 Heroes, a Loudon County based non-profit that builds tiny houses for disabled American veterans who are homeless or at risk for homelessness. Each tiny home is built entirely by volunteers and at just 228 square feet, contains a full kitchen, bath, bedroom and living area.

The Tennessee Idol competition in Sevier County is scheduled for Friday, April 15, 2017.

Anthony Hall, who toured the United States as singer/songwriter under the stage name Willie Franklin, founded A Home 4 Heroes in honor of his friend Kent Bilbrey, a veteran and fellow musician who performed with Dolly Parton during his career.

Hall is also the president of Brighton Road Entertainment. “With over 30 years as a performer and promoter, we feel that the partnership between Brighton Road Entertainment and A Home 4 Heroes is a perfect marriage,” Hall said. “All veterans deserve a home and through the efforts of our organization and volunteers this is being accomplished here in our State.”
