Alleged Abductor Arrested, Missing Girl Found Safe in Sevierville

A missing girl and her alleged abductor who were the subjects of an Amber Alert in Texas were found Wednesday night at a Sevierville restaurant.

The U.S. Marshals Service notified the Sevierville Police Department that 20-year-old Andrew Brian Akers and a 15-year-old missing girl, Stormie Clemmer, could be in Sevierville.

Clemmer was reported missing from Alpine, TX since June 22, 2017 and the Brewster County Sheriff’s Department issued an Amber Alert for the teen.

After a brief search, detectives located Akers and Clemmer at the Buffalo Wild Wings on Hurley Drive about 7:30 p.m. on June 28. Akers was arrested without incident. He was charged with being a fugitive from justice and taken to the Sevier County Jail to await extradition to Texas on a kidnapping charge.

Clemmer was taken into protective custody.

All persons are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
