Lions Club, Remote Area Medical Collecting Supplies for Hurricane Harvey Recovery

The Sevier County Lions Club is hosting several drop-off locations in Sevier County for Hurricane Harvey Recovery donations that will be delivered to Texas by Remote Area Medical.

After our community suffered our own “mother nature tragedy” late last year, our hearts break for those in Houston. We know it will be a long, long road of rebuilding for them. As members of the Lion’s Club and Remote Area Medical, our group is collecting specific donations that will be hand delivered to Remote Area Medical and driven down, along with disaster volunteers, and supplied directly to the Houston area hurricane victims.

The Lions Club is collecting these specific items for Hurricane Harvey Recovery:

  • Plastic Totes
  • Bleach
  • Flashlights / Batteries
  • Baby Diapers
  • Hygiene products
  • Tarps
  • Clorox wipes
  • Cleaning supplies

Drop-off Locations:

Eye Designs Optical
1240 Fox Meadows Boulevard in Sevierville
10 a.m. – 6 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday or Friday

Highlands Union Bank

Remote Area Medical already has personnel on site in Texas and is looking for physicians, nurses, EMT’s, paramedics, veterinarians, truck drivers, general support, and volunteers with flat bottom boats who are ready to do heavy lifting to help those affected by the hurricane.

If you wish to volunteer, please contact the RAM volunteer team at volunteers@ramusa.org or call 865-579-1530. Please do not make travel arrangements until you have corresponded with a RAM volunteer representative and they have specifically instructed you to move forward with plans.

To make a monetary donation, visit ramusa.org/donate and select the “Disaster Response & Relief” drop down. Thank you in advance for your generous support!
