Visit the New Anakeesta Attraction During Sevier County Days

Sevier County residents and workers may visit Anakeesta in Gatlinburg for free during Sevier County Days. The family attraction opened to the public earlier this month and boasts a tree canopy walk, ziplining, shopping, dining, children’s activities and a unique Chondola ride.

Guests begin with a scenic ride from downtown Gatlinburg to the summit of Anakeesta mountain on a Chondola that features both quad chairs and enclosed 6-person gondola cabins. At the top of the mountain guests arrive at Firefly Village, a whimsical treehouse-themed village with quaint shops, casual dining and seating throughout the village to enjoy the spectacular scenic views.

From there visitors can stroll through the elevated treetop canopy walk which includes 16 hanging bridges more than 40 feet in the air, soar through the trees on Gatlinburg’s fastest dual-racing ziplines, climb through the Anakeesta Treehouse Playground or sit back and enjoy the breathtaking views of Mt. LeConte and downtown Gatlinburg.

There is a Memorial Fire Walk located on the highpoint of the mountain with an exhibit by photographer Jeremy Cowart titled “Voices of Gatlinburg.”

Sevier County Days at Anakeesta runs Sept. 24–30, 2017 with free admission available to residents with a valid Sevier County I.D. and workers with a recent paycheck stub from a Sevier County business. I.D. holder must be 16 years old or older. Eligible guests may bring a spouse and dependent children OR one guest.
