Elderly Sevierville Couple Allegedly Robbed by Men Claiming to be Linoleum Salesmen

Sevierville Police are looking for three men who reportedly gained entry to the home of an elderly couple and then robbed them on Saturday afternoon.

According to police, the robbery took place about 2 p.m. on May 12, 2018 at a residence on Estate Drive, in the Little Pigeon Estates neighborhood.

Posing as linoleum salesmen, two men knocked on the side door and then entered the home when the homeowner opened the door. While they distracted the homeowner, a third man entered through another door and allegedly stole $920 from a purse.

The three men are described as white males. They fled in an early 2000’s gray two-door Dodge Ram pickup truck.

“Residents are cautioned to never open a door for an unknown person,” the Sevierville Police Department said in a statement.

A relative said the couple were really shaken up, but unharmed.
