Team Captain’s Meeting and Kickoff for United Way Dragon Boat Race Announced

Team captains competing in Drums on the Dam, the annual United Way of Sevier County’s dragon boat race, will meet in Sevierville in preparation for the August event.

The Drums on the Dam Team Captain’s Meeting and Kickoff will be held at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at Courthouse Donuts, 160 Court Avenue in downtown Sevierville.

United Way of Sevier County will celebrate the 3rd Annual Drums on the Dam dragon boat race on Saturday, August 18th at Douglas Dam Headwater Campground on beautiful Douglas Lake in Sevierville.

Crews of 20 rowers, a drummer and professional steerer race in authentic 46-foot Hong Kong-style boats in three heats during this high energy, adrenaline-pumping event. Competitors rave about the excitement, family-friendly competition and community spirit surrounding the sport.
