Missing Teen with Asperger Syndrome may be Headed to Pigeon Forge or Gatlinburg

UPDATE 4:50 p.m. on Nov. 3, 2015: The Catoosa County Sheriff’s Office announced that Adriana has been located in Gatlinburg, Tenn. She is safe and in good health. The family and the juvenile are in the process of being reunited.

Authorities are looking for 14-year-old Adriana Jordan Elmore, a missing teen with Asperger Syndrome, who left her Georgia home yesterday and may be hitchhiking to Pigeon Forge or Gatlinburg, Tenn.

According to the Catoosa County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a call about 6:30 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 2, 2015 that Adriana Jordan Elmore went missing from the home sometime between 11 p.m. the evening before and 6 a.m. that morning. Adriana has Asperger Syndrome, an autism spectrum disorder.

Police now believe Adriana may be traveling to the Knoxville, Pigeon Forge or Gatlinburg area by hitching rides from strangers. She told her siblings that she wanted to “cross the mountain.” Investigators have confirmed that the missing teen was seen in Dalton, Ga. at 9:40 a.m. on Nov. 2. They believe she received a ride from Dalton, Ga. and was dropped off at the Paul Huff Parkway exit on I-75 in Cleveland, Tenn. at approximately 12 p.m. on Nov. 2. Adriana was seen in the same area at approximately 4 p.m. Authorities said Adriana made statements to that driver about going to Knoxville, Pigeon Forge or Gatlinburg.

Due to the Asperger Syndrome, Adriana may not respond if spoken to.
