Gatlinburg Cooks Up Exciting Fall Celebration with Gatlinburg Chili Cookoff

Celebrate the season with a bowl of fall’s favorite dish at the Gatlinburg Chili Cookoff presented by Bush’s® Chili Beans on Wednesday.

The Gatlinburg Chili Cookoff presented by Bush’s® Chili Beans will be held 5–8 p.m. on Nov. 7, 2018. Festival-goers can enjoy chili samplings from Gatlinburg’s top area restaurants, live performances from the Petty Hearts, activities, Hot Chili Eating Contests and more at this family-friendly event.

This year visitors can expect to jam out when renowned Tom Petty tribute band, the Petty Hearts, take center stage for an unforgettable live performance. The band will begin their performance at 6:15 p.m. on the Bush’s Best Stage. Bluegrass band Jimbo Whaley & Greenbrier will kick off the musical entertainment earlier in the evening at 5:15 p.m.

Later, the competition heats up for festivalgoers partaking in the Hot Chili Eating Contest at 5:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. The festival’s chili vendors will also be battling it out again this year for the coveted People’s Choice, Best Booth Presentation and other categorical awards. While the event is free, tickets for chili samplings are $10. Children 5 years of age and under can sample free of charge. Ticket booth entrance points will be located at 705 Parkway and River Road, with the River Road booth opening as early as 3 p.m. on the day of the event.
