Man Killed, Person of Interest in Custody in Sevier County Shooting

Authorities say a person of interest is in custody after an elderly man was found shot inside his Sevier County home.

According the Sevier County Sheriff’s Office, 911 dispatch received a call from a location on Bob Hollow Road just after 3 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 10, 2018 stating a person had been shot. Sheriff’s department officers responded, assisted by officers from the Sevierville Police Department, to 317 Bob Hollow Road and found 75-year-old Billy J. Huskey inside the residence suffering from a gunshot wound. Huskey lived at the residence. Emergency services transported Huskey to U.T. Medical Center in Knoxville, where he later died.

“The shooting is under investigation and a person of interest has been taken into custody on unrelated charges,” said Chief Det. Jeff McCarter in a release.
