Sevier Sheriff Searching for Cash Express Robbery Suspect

The Cash Express in Seymour was robbed at gunpoint on Tuesday afternoon and authorities are still searching for the perpetrator.

The Sevier County Sheriff’s Office says a call came in at 2:42 p.m. on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 reporting an armed robbery of the Cash Express located at 10718 Chapman Highway in Seymour.

The clerk told responding officers that a white male, dressed in black and wearing sunglasses, entered the business. He brandished a handgun and demanded money from the clerk. The clerk surrendered an undisclosed amount of money and the suspect fled on foot.

Detectives were still gathering evidence at the scene and searching the area late this afternoon. Anyone with information should contact the Sevier County Sheriff’s Office at 865-428-1899.
