A man was shot in Sevierville last week and authorities are searching for the shooter.

Detectives with the Sevierville Police Department are asking the public to come forward with any information about a shooting that reportedly occurred about 10 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2019 near the Country Meadows neighborhood.

The department said officers responded to LeConte Medical Center after being notified that a man was being treated for a gunshot wound. The victim told officers that he was sitting outside at the corner of Candy Tuft Drive and Ridge Road when he heard what sounded like several gunshots. He then realized he had been shot. He said the gunshots might have come from a silver two-door sedan. Witnesses in the area also reported what sounded like gunshots.

The gunshot wound was not life threatening. The victim was treated and released from the hospital.

Detectives are asking that anyone with information regarding this incident call Detective Milliron at 865-868-1747. Due to the ongoing nature of the investigation, no additional information will be released at this time.
