Man Struck, Killed Crossing Pigeon Forge Parkway

A vehicle struck and killed a pedestrian as he attempted to cross the Parkway in Pigeon Forge on Friday night.

The Pigeon Forge Police Department received a call at about 11:10 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 27, 2019 reporting that a pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle on the Parkway at the intersection of Jake Thomas Road. Officers arrived and found a man deceased in the roadway, determining he had been struck by a vehicle traveling northbound.

“From our investigation it appears the pedestrian had attempted to cross the Parkway while the traffic signal at Jake Thomas Road was green,” said the department’s spokesperson, Criminalist Wayne Knight. “The vehicle had the right of way when it struck the pedestrian.”

The investigation is ongoing. The identities of the victim and motorist were not released.
