Man Charged with Attempted Murder after Allegedly Stabbing Girlfriend

A 19-year-old Pigeon Forge woman is fighting for her life after her boyfriend allegedly stabbed her multiple times and pushed her from the car onto a rural roadway.

The Sevier County Sheriff’s Office says a 911 call at 10:07 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2019 reported that a woman had been pushed from a car and was laying on the roadway in the 800 block of Gnatty Branch Road in Sevierville.

Officers responded and found a woman, later identified as Jessie M. Tucker, suffering from multiple stab wounds. Tucker was transported to University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville where she underwent surgery and remains in the ICU.

Tucker told EMS personnel that her boyfriend, 22-year-old Hayden Kolby Ownby, stabbed her. A witness stated Ownby was driving the car from which Tucker was pushed.

Detectives located Ownby at his home on Briar Way in Pigeon Forge and took him into custody. Ownby was charged with Attempted 1st Degree Murder and was booked into Sevier County Jail with bond set at $1 million. His initial court appearance is scheduled for Nov. 13, 2019 in Sevier County General Sessions Court. The Investigation is ongoing.

All persons are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
