Dollywood Auditions: Theme Park a Launchpad for Entertainers

Dollywood auditions will be held in Pigeon Forge and Spartanburg, S.C. for the 2020 Entertainment Team. Known throughout the theme park industry as the premiere location for award-winning entertainment, Dollywood begins its search for new talent ready to find the spotlight in the park’s beloved shows.

After a successful debut at Dollywood’s DreamMore Resort and Spa this season, the auditions at the resort expand this year into a three-day event. The Pigeon Forge auditions begin with registration on Friday, Jan. 10, 2020 from 4-8 p.m. A brief registration period also is scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 11 from 9-11 a.m. Open call auditions begin on Saturday at 10 a.m. Callbacks are set to occur on Sunday, Jan. 12. Those auditioning will receive a number and anticipated time of audition during check-in but are encouraged to register early.

Two pre-audition briefing sessions will be held on Jan. 10 at 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. These highly informative sessions provide an opportunity to learn about the process, ask questions about expectations, meet the audition panel and test CDs.

Dollywood’s entertainment team also returns to the Chapman Cultural Center in Spartanburg, South Carolina after much success in finding top quality talent at the location in the past. Auditions in Spartanburg are scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 25. Registration takes place from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m., while open call auditions begin at 10 a.m.

Members of Dollywood’s entertainment team are looking for talented singers and expressive actors who desire the opportunity to work with some of the industry’s top professionals. Dollywood Entertainment is looking for singers who are proficient in musical theater, ‘50s and ‘60s rock and pop vocals, and contemporary, as well as classic, country music. They also seek expressive actors who are skilled at improvisation, have a strong presence, can project and are able to sing and move well. Performers must be at least 17 years old.

Country music stars Carly Pearce and Suzy Bogguss, American Idol alumnus Janelle Arthur, and Eric Martsolf—Brady Black on NBC’s Days of Our Lives— are just a few of the stars who started their careers at Dollywood.
