Concert and Fireworks Planned for Gatlinburg New Year’s Eve

On Monday, December 31, Gatlinburg will ring in the new year under the cover of the iconic Gatlinburg Space Needle for its 32nd Annual New Year’s Eve Ball Drop and Fireworks Show. Since 1987, this family-friendly celebration has been one of the largest organized New Year’s Eve events in the nation, and this year’s end-of-the-year celebration is set to be a spectacular end to the year.

New Year’s Eve revelers will be treated to a rocking live performance by the Journey tribute band, Departure. Hailed for their powerful stage energy and striking similarity to the band’s infamous sound, Departure resurrects the legacy and music of Journey for audiences in a spectacular show that is only second best to the original. With live entertainment, fabulous downtown celebrations and activities, the streets of Gatlinburg come alive to offer plenty of exciting ways to celebrate the last night of the year, all while leading up to a midnight fireworks display and ball drop at the base of the 400-foot Space Needle.

Visitors are encouraged to arrive early to take advantage of the celebration specials offered by many Gatlinburg restaurants and businesses. The Departure concert begins at 10:30 p.m. For more information on New Year’s Eve in Gatlinburg, call 800-588-1817 or visit Gatlinburg.com/to-do/events/.
