90 Indicted after Sevier County Undercover Operation

Dozens of people were arrested Wednesday as a result of an undercover operation by the Sevier County Street Crimes Narcotics Unit.

According to Sevier County Sheriff Ron Seals, a Sevier County Grand Jury returned 90 presentments when it convened earlier this month as a result of an ongoing undercover operation dubbed Safe Streets Belitz.

Officers and agents from Sevier County Sheriff’s Office; police departments of Sevierville, Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg; U. S. Marshals Service; Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms; U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency; Homeland Security; and the Tennessee Department of Corrections Probation and Parole set out at 6 a.m. on February 26, 2020 to round up suspected drug dealers indicted by the grand jury. At the end of the day, 53 people were arrested and authorities said they would work through the night to locate the 37 remaining suspects.
