Halloween Spooktacular to Feature Trick-or-Treat, Carnival Games, Hayride and Haunted House

Pigeon Forge residents are encouraged to participate in the city’s Community Halloween Spooktacular Event and Safety Day. The free event is a community program produced by the Pigeon Forge Parks and Recreation Department along with Pigeon Forge first responders.

Community Halloween Spooktacular Event and Safety Day will be held 3– 9 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 25, 2018 at the Pigeon Forge Community Center.

“What a fun and effective way to bring our Pigeon Forge community together for fellowship while also sharing important safety information at our Community Halloween Spooktacular Event and Safety Day,” said Lanny Goodwin, director of the Pigeon Forge Parks and Recreation Department. “We’re grateful to Chief Tony Watson and Chief Richie Catlett and their teams for partnering with us to make our community safer and wiser.”

Free family-friendly indoor and outdoor activities are scheduled for everyone. Inside the community center, attendees will find trick-or-treating with free candy for children of all ages as well as a variety of carnival games, a hayride, haunted house and more.

The parking lot outside will be filled with live demonstrations by the Pigeon Forge fire and police departments, including a “touch the truck” opportunity with the fire department’s Tower 28, Engine 22 and Wildland 23 fire apparatuses, along with police and Sevier County Sheriff’s Department vehicles. Sparky the Fire Dog and Martha the Pigeon will make appearances and pose for photos as well. The police department’s crisis negotiation and Tactical Rescue Unit (TRU) teams will be on hand as will a K-9 unit. Participants can learn more about Firewise, car seat safety, smoke alarms, fire prevention and more from various booths and displays.

Several vendors will host booths, some of which will offer free items. Tennessee State Bank will provide free hotdogs to the first 1,000 participants, while Firehouse Subs will distribute complimentary fire hats, candy, stickers and cards redeemable for a free dessert. Chick-fil-A will offer giveaways, including free gift cards (all items available while supplies last only).
