Four Charged for Allegedly Shoplifting $20k of Merchandise from Sevierville Stores

Four visitors from Georgia have been charged with felony theft after police responded to a shoplifting complaint and found $20,000 worth of merchandise in the suspects’ vehicle.

Sevierville police officers responded to a shoplifting complaint in the area of Tanger Outlet Sevierville on Saturday, April 20, 2019.

“A witness described the suspects as two black females wearing hospital scrub clothing and a black male dressed in black clothes, traveling in a black Cadillac Escalade,” said City of Sevierville spokesperson Bob Stahlke. “While investigating, officers saw a black Escalade on the Parkway and ultimately located the suspect vehicle behind Sleep Inn, 1020 Parkway in Sevierville. According to SPD Officer Justin Armstrong, there were four persons at the vehicle, which was full of clothing and other items from several nearby stores, totaling approximately $20,000.”
